In the Solomon Islands, New Zealand police officers took part in an early morning service, along with other Participating Police Force (PPF) members and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) staff.

Fifteen PPF staff members acted as ‘flag bearers’, representing the 15 participating countries to the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI). The New Zealand flag was proudly carried by Constable Carlye Rees of Counties-Manukau.

Later in the morning a further memorial service was held at the GBR Chapel, during which Constable Vaoula Atatagi, of Wellington, shared a bible reading.
