10-1 from Ten 7

Police Ten 7 returns next month for its 24th series – and staff are invited to nominate cases of the week and ‘wanteds’ to feature over its 40 episodes.

To date there have been 522 episodes featuring 2133 crime cases and wanted faces, leading to 838 arrests – 482 as a direct result of information received from viewers.

The 2016 series featured 185 cases and wanteds, leading to 84 arrests, 28 as a direct result of viewer information to the 0800 address or Ten 7 website.

These included an aggravated robbery at a Tokoroa petrol station, which led to a three-year, four-month jail term; and a series of assaults in central Auckland.

The suspect for one of the assaults handed himself in after the programme.

Presenter Detective Sergeant Rob Lemoto (pictured) says Ten 7 gets results from viewers, even in cases which have featured elsewhere.

Police Ten 7 screens at 7.30pm on TVNZ2 on Thursdays, starting 2 March.
