Missing person facts The oldest missing person alert in the new National Intelligence Application system relates to the 1952 disappearance of a hunter in the hills behind Shannon. Unlike some countries, no specific time has to elapse in New Zealand before someone can be reported missing. If there are genuine fears for a person's safety, police will accept a missing person report. New Zealand Police do not offer a family tracing service, however the Salvation Army does. The Salvation Army receives referrals from police for this service. |
